About Knaphill Vets

Alfie Hodges MRCVS

Practice Owner

Hello, I’m Alfie the lead vet and owner of Knaphill Vets. Running my own practice enables me to deliver the care and experience you and your pets deserve. To me that means the highest clinical and surgical standards in an environment that’s calm and inviting but importantly giving you the time to understand yours and your pets needs.

My clinical passions lie in soft tissue surgery, emergency and critical care; but my favourite part of being a vet, other then helping my patients get better, is the relationships we build. It is a rare privlidge  to be trusted and able to help in a moment of need. I find sharing those moments with families nourishes the soul.

Often when your pet is unwell, you’re worried, full of uncertainty, for me to be able to be there for both your pet and you, is so very rewarding and fuels the passion for my job.

Ash Bourne RVN

Head Nurse

A nurse, or a teacher, it was always going to be a difficult decision. As luck would have it, this job enables me to fulfil both. Nursing and caring for your amazing pets whilst teaching and supporting my student nurses and nursing team is the dream job. Having qualified in 2016, I’ve had the opportunity to work in fantastic practices and built a wealth of experience in all aspects of nursing and patient care.

When I’m not at Knaphill Vets, I’m giving out cuddles to my gorgeous Great Dane Athena, who is certainly a big (definately big) part of my life. Riding is also a passion of mine and I have two gorgeous but quite needy horses (Jacob and Tinker).

Rhiannon Legg

Client Care

Rhiannon loves the family feel of an independent practice and being able to get to know every pet and owner. She owns 3 mastiffs, Keela, Moose and Nia so understands the difficulties some owners face with coming to the vets and prioritizes every individual pets needs and worries.
Prior to  veterinary she worked, for 10 years, in various reptile shops. In 2016 she completed an advanced course in venomous snake handling and went on to keep a selection of cobras and rattlesnakes for a few years. She still keeps a small collection of nonvenomous species. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs as well as kayaking and paddle boarding on warmer days.

Freya Muscat

Veterinary Care Assistant

Hi, I’m Freya and I work as a Veterinary Care Assistant here at Knaphill Vets. Animals are a real passion of mine, I particularly like cats, although anything with fur gets fully fussed and cuddled. I studied animal management at Merrist Wood and then worked in a large referral hospital where I built a wealth of experience caring for in-patients. I then moved on to first opinion practice before joining the team at Knaphill Vets.

Outside of work I love to dance and enter dance competitions. I also enjoy going the gym and when time permits, traveling.
